Sad news...

I got back from Music Camp yesterday. It was so much fun. I really, really enjoyed it.

Anyway, mom had to put patches down on Wednesday. I didn't know while I was at camp, but she told me when I got back home. She's buried in our back yard. The vet sent us a nice card with her paw print in it, and mom started crying. She's really torn up about it. I'm going to miss Patches, but she was really suffering there at the end. She could barely walk and her legs were giving out on her. Sometimes we had to pick her up from her bed so she could go outside. I guess she's in a better place now.

I'm going to try not to get too upset. I knew it was coming for a long time. It's just a lot different around here without her. I got her when she was a puppy, I was five years old. I saw her birth and picked her out among all the other dalmation puppies. I guess I kind of wish I would have spent more time with her. I'd come home from school and know she wanted to play with the ball. But sometimes I knew I had too much homework. I guess I kind of regret that.

I'm gonna miss her.
