DUKE JUST LOST TO MARYLAND @ Cameron. The sweaty one strikes again. WHOOO HOOOOO! Now UNC is tied with Duke at the top of the ACC. I have high hopes for Wake joining them after tomorrow's GT game. If NC State can beat GT at home then surely Wake has a good shot.
I had dinner tonight in Raliegh with my friends Bubba and Rachel. We had wings and beer and talked about very little besides our dogs. I read an article several years ago that postulated that when it comes to small talk, only about 3 or 4 topics usually ever come up. The people who are dating/single talk about their current girl/boyfriend (or lack thereof), the people with pets ramble incessanty about hairballs and canine sleeping habits, the people with kids talk about potty training and cute things their kids say, and everybody bitches about their job. There seems to be more than an ounce of truth to that from where I sit. We had a good time though and it was nice to see them.
I also talked to my brother for about an hour on the phone. He's a sophomore at NCSU and is having a hard time in several of his computer engineering classes. He's thinking about changing majors or transferring to another school, mostly for academic reasons. My only collegiate advice to him in the past has been "don't work too hard, live it up, and have fun because you only get to be in college once." Apparently he listens to me. To be honest, he may just not be cut out for a difficult engineering program but I told him to hang in there and not to transfer or change majors until obligated to do so by his GPA. I think deep down he really wants to finish the engineering program but I really don't know what's in his best interest. Hell, half of college is figuring out who you are and where you want to go so I'm not too worried about him. Brotherhood was easy when it was all indian burns and atomic wedgies but those days are short lived.
