Try not to be so hard on yourself. And if you have trouble with depression, 3 months after the baby you may have post-partum. Is there anything you can do about seeking counseling to help you find ways to cope better and not be so hard on yourself?

I am just a big believer in therapy. It's helps me and my son a lot! He acted out in kindergarten, but he, like your daughter, was very smart (he still is in third grade.) The school offered counseling services in school. Maybe you can see if your school has a program like that. It really helped my son, and there is no shame in it. None at all. He has had counseling every year of his life since he was two years old.

Therapy and parenting classes have taught me to be a better mother. I am calm most of the time, I realize there is more to life than housekeeping, I prioritize, and I hardly ever yell (if I do, it is only a quick raising of the voice to get my son's attention when he is ignoring me.)

You are not a failure if you are having a hard time. Try to seek out help so you can feel better about your situation. Ok?

As for the medical bills, there are programs to help with those. And in the meantime, write your elected officials to support a national health care plan. Your situation is one of the examples of why we need one. There are politicians who want to set laws that forgive medical bills, bills that are acquired during disability, and forgive student loans. And then inact a national health care plan. But, this is a form of socialism, so people freak out.

There are legal programs to help with debts if they are obtained through disability and illness. Try checking with a lawyer. It is sort of like bankruptcy, but not exactly.

Try not to despair. I know we all have bad days, but all is not lost nor is your situation hopeless. Many people are dealing with similar situations, and I have been going through it. Just do not give up. Be good to yourself, be kind to yourself, and give yourself pep talks. I know how incredibly hard it can be, but I am sure you will get through it.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck to you and your family.
