It's been 5 years since the New York Giants have been in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl XXXV to be exact. I taped that game, and I have never EVER taken it out to watch it. Tonight on ESPN Classic they showed the NFL Films Super Bowl Highlights of Super Bowl XXXV and I watched it. It was the first time in 5 years I had seen any sirt of highlight of the game.
I was sick, it was horrible. It brought back all the horrible memories of that night. It was by far the worst I've ever felt as a sports fan. It wasnt just the loss, it was the fact that I built it up all week and was looking forward to this game more than any game I had ever looked forward to before, or since.
And it was the fact we were right in the game twice. TWICE!!!! On both Jesse Armstead's INT that was called back because of holding of Keith Wasington (to this day I still dont know how the ref saw that one) and on the kickoff return for a TD by Ron Dixon, that was answered by a Ravens kickoff return for a TD. That was the money shot. We were done right there.
At least I have Super Bowl XXV Highlights to look forward to tomorrow at 2pm. Giants 20 Bills 19. Wide right.
Also Steve Martin is hosting SNL tonight and it's been probably the best SNL i have caught in a while. Steve is the man.
Oh and Horatio laughed during a skit WHILST singing. I have never seen that before, so that was cool.
Hope everyone has an awesome Super Sunday
