And another costume

Planned Parenthood, again, is throwing Party Like a Rock Star. I'm sort of sick of the theme, because this is the fourth time that I have to come up with a "Rockstar" costume. The first year I did Courtney Love. Two years ago, Janis Joplin. Last year, a generic rocker chick.

Graham is going as a roadie. Which is basically going as himself. He has dozens and dozens of "crew" lanyards from various shows he's done over the years. I think he's just wearing his usual attire, maybe throwing on his pod belt, and he's done.

I've been sort of blah about the event and my costuming ideas for weeks now have been uninspired. Until last night.

While I've been knitting, I've been watching Star Wars. I started a few weeks ago with The Phantom Menace, and I finally finished the prequels yesterday.

Last night, I popped in Star Wars, and when I hit the Cantina scene, I was inspired. I'm going as either a member of the Cantina Band OR a Cantina Band Groupie.

The mask is available online somewhere, thought it's sort of pricey AND I'd probably roast to death. The tee shirt, though, isn't all that expensive at Think Geek, and I could put it over some sci-fi clothes (maybe stuff I'm taking to Burning Man) have fun turning myself into some random alien with body paints and prostetics, and then have a blast.

I seriously doubt, as happened the year that I was Janis Joplin, that there will be three or four other people with the same idea.

costume, party
