That out of the way...
I just mapped out my running schedule from now until the half marathon in January. I'm glad that I did because I'm already a week behind
my seventeen week schedule. I'm confident that I can make a four mile run on Saturday, but I have some catching up to do on just maintenance running during the week, especially since I haven't done much in the way of exercise since Burning Man.
According to the
website, the marathon is nearly 70 percent sold out already. I suspect that they'll sell out earlier than they did last year, but
this year I'm not going to miss the opportunity to register, like I did last year.
I'm undecided about the
triathon in November though. It's less than six weeks away, and I am in no way prepared for it at this point. I'm sure that the swim would be great, but the bike would need some serious work and I'm already committed to running a shitload. It'd take some serious time commitments to get ready for the triathlon AND get back into running form, and I'm just not quite sure I'm ready for that. It seemed like a good idea on the other side of Burning Man, but now I'm not so sure. I'm giving myself three weeks to see what my running shape is like and then I'll reevaluate.
It looks like, though,
that race may not happen, so the decision may be made for me.
ETA: The triathlon
has been canceled. Well, then, that was an easy decision. I guess it's just swimming* and running this fall. Since I'm planning on doing the MS 150 in the spring, I think I'll be ok for a lot of sprint triathlons in March and April.
*And the great
'stina turns 35 plans are still in place, so every day is training for something or another nowadays.
