a conversation
Sometimes I wonder what other people think of my family. This conversation ensued when my father was trying to explain the art car to a third party.
my dad:. . . and so there's a piano with a stripper pole.
me: I'm not sure that we'll be able to get the stripper pole on in time for the parade.
my dad: What??? The stripper pole is the most important part!
me: Yeah I know, but we have a lot to do between now and then, I'm not sure if the stripper pole is going to make it.
my dad: The stripper pole has to be on the car for the parade. I'll buy it for you.
me: We have the stripper pole. It's not an issue of money, it's a time thing.
my dad: Tell them I'll come in any night this week to work on the stripper pole.
When the art car parade rolls on Saturday, we'll be the piano lounge with the stripper pole.
