Fury, and not the puppet version

As the day moves along, I'm getting more and more pissed off about this missing cache of weapons. The irony is sort of sickening too. In 2003, the administration was still playing the WMD game, and the IAEA says "hey, guys, no nuclear weapons as far as we know, but there's some serious shit that can really fuck people up. we put our seal on it so you can find it. good luck with the wmd hunt." And we go in, guns blazing. We secure oil fields, we declare "Mission Accomplished," and we put together a half-assed attempt at securing the place. Ok, granted, we were looking for WMDs, but I think that we can all agree at this point, that the shit in that bunker qualifies, at the very least as MWDs. I don't know about all of ya'll but the stat that a pound of the stuff was all that it took to take out the Pan Am flight was enough to scare the shit out of me. From a PR perspective, not to mention the tactical one (wait, I'm not supposed to criticize the troops, scratch that), you'd think they would have wanted to bring that cache home as a trophy to show us all how the war was justified. Fucking incompetent assholes.

In other news, I got through the meeting from hell with little event. I had a microsoft word saving crash earlier today that irritated the hell out of me, but everything else seemed to move along swimmingly.

politics, war
