After
we removed the mirrors from the disco fireplace, I put them in the back yard along the fence. They don't take up as much fence space as I'd have liked, but they add a little bit of whimsy to the backyard, and whenever we get around to redesigning the backyard, they'll be better laid out.
Someone LOVES them, though.
Every day, almost every time I look, there's a male cardinal, as red as a cherry, sitting on a branch of the Vitex tree, staring at himself in the mirror. He gets so excited about the handsome devil that he sees that he hops up and down on the branch. Surprisingly, the guy in the mirror hops too.
He spends HOURS there.
A few days ago, I showed my mom, and of course he was there. We went closer to inspect the mirror, and evidence of his near constant presence was on the ground under the branch and on the lower half of the mirror. Bird shit everywhere.
It's a comfort to see him. He's a pretty bird that adds color to my backyard. Noir has apparently decided he's not worth chasing and catching. And so he sits on his branch and hops and looks and makes people who watch him happy.
