Violating another person's zen at Burning Man

Inspired by the The Hairpin's "have you ever sworn at anyone" meme.

In 2008, my friends and I were on our art car, the Vroom Vroom Room, driving across the playa. It was a beautiful day, and we were picking up passengers here and there. We were somewhere between center camp and the Man, when this guy we'd picked up started harrassing my friends Buttery and Drillbit about something or another. He wanted something from them; I can't remember what. He was with his girlfriend, and she had the sort of look on her face that suggested that this wasn't the first time she'd seen this sort of behavior from him. He kept on poking at them and poking at them, and they were trying very hard to be polite to him and still hold their ground. At some point, he started implying that they were bad people for not giving him what he wanted.

Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore, so I told my friend Klondike to stop driving the car. We were in the middle of the playa. Then I stood on the piano and said "get the FUCK off my art car!" The guy started to argue with me, but I stood my ground, and finally his girlfriend dragged him off. He started muttering about how people kicked his people off the land all the time. I rolled my eyes. Klondike drove on. Last I saw of the guy was literally in a cloud of dust.

The rest of the car was a little dumbfounded that it was me, the nice one, that did the evicting, but the guy was being an ass. He totally deserved it. When everyone came back to camp and told Graham about it, he was all "of course she would have kicked him off. I can totally see her doing that."

Maybe I'm not so nice.
