Texas in April

I'm riding my bike tomorrow for a few dozen miles. I don't know how many, yet. It'll depend on how I feel. The ride is in Burton, Texas, which isn't that far from the ranch. And it's either 20, 39 or 62 miles. There are lots of smallish hills on the ride, which I'm not very good at, but I think it's probably good for me to do these sorts of things prior to the MS150. I'm inclined to do the 62, but it will depend on how I'm feeling when I get to the point that I'm supposed to make decisions. It's supposed to be a pretty day, so I'm looking forward to it.

Afterwards, I'll go back to the ranch, where I will have left Graham. We may or may not wander over to the antique festival to see the sights there. I think we'll make pizza and sit by the fire tomorrow night and enjoy the Texas air. The puppies will be overjoyed when they find out they get to go to the ranch for the weekend. They haven't been since late January.

April is my favorite month in Texas. The flowers are ridiculous, the weather is generally perfect, and everyone just seems friendlier.

In two weeks, I'll ride my bike 180 something miles through Texas. They schedule the MS150 properly, I think. Put people on their bikes in the prettiest time of year.
