8:30 a.m., sitting outside St. Catherine Monastery, waiting for our Bedouin tour guide "Mountain Tiger" to pick us up and take us back to Dahab. Jesse and I just descended Mt. Sinai, or Moses Mount as it's known here. We were picked up at 10:45 last night, started hiking around 1 a.m., and she made it up at 3:30 and I arrived at 4:30. The sun rose at 6, and was pretty, but anticlimactic.
Now Jesse and Trish are both sick - Trish with a stomach thing, and Jesse with a head cold. I have no idea what we'll do from here. Even I feel pretty sick. It's one thing to stay in Dahab because there's so much to do, but another to stay because you can't leave.
It's been an interesting trip so far. On Tuesday I made friends with a girl who lives in Cairo, so we've been hanging out with her and her friends the last few days. Tuesday night we grilled fish in a sand pit out at the Lagun, and Wednesday morning we were supposed to go diving with Muhammad/ Mido, but we all went snorkeling instead while he worked. We came back from that round 5, took much-needed showers, and met them for dinner at 9. It was amazing, but thinking about food nauseates me, so no talking about it now.
