Hello all!
Here are my upcoming travel plans!
This weekend: Head with my friend Alaska to
Regensburg on Saturday morning and her friend (from Alaska) who will be starting school there next week. We will proceed to get the schooling friend settled in to her new home, then go out and eat lots of Cuban food and drink many mojitos. Head back Sunday, though I might stay in Munich to watch The Watchmen. WHO WILL WATCH THE WATCHMEN?
Next month (April): Fly out of Munich to Edinburgh with Alaska to visit another of her friends (also from Alaska) who is teaching in Scotland. Possibly visit a guy who used to work at the hotel, who is now getting his Master's at Edinburgh University. Hopefully the girls will be renting a car, and we can drive to Glasgow, where I plan to catch a flight to London. I'll stay in London to visit a friend from Austin who is going to school there, and hopefully she'll want to/have time to go somewhere that weekend (Cork maybe?). RyanAir has a slew of 5 euro flights within the UK, so I'll definitely fly from Glasgow to London (they don't fly out of Edinburgh,) and I'm hoping to go to Ireland too. I feel inter-UK flights are the only way I can see more than one Great British isle while here. One year is a very short amount of time, I've found. I'm there for five full days, with two travel days that aren't even that bad - we get in to Edinburgh by 7 p.m. of the first day, and it'll be mid-spring, so we'll still have some sunlight. I already purchased my ticket to Edinburgh, and I'll figure out the rest of the details soon. I might just book my ticket out of Cork, and hope my friend wants to go with me. RyanAir also flies to Dublin, but I've heard Cork is much prettier, and a bit cheaper. I'll research some and then decide.
May: Egypt! My roommate and I were able to get two extra days off at the end of the trip, so we will have some more time. Flying out of Amman is too expensive, so we'll have to cross overland back to Cairo, so that's where the extra two days will help. Now I just need to re-work the itinerary some so we don't take the same route to Jordan and back again.
I haven't figured out June yet, but maybe Berlin for that. It will depend on whether my parents are coming to visit this summer, or friends.
