I haven't been on here since August. I've basically opted for keeping an actual journal instead of a blog. I apologize to all those LJ-ers who I've neglected. Not gonna lie, though, I doubt I'll post on here for another 6 months, but who knows.
I'm hoping 2008 is going to be a big year with lots of changes and personal growth and all that good stuff.
Things I plan to do:
-Make a demo (I've got two songs so far... doubtful that I will actually use them, but I'm writing and they aren't complete crap, so that is good.)
-Take the year off school. (That's right folks, come June, I taking a sabbatical, if you will, and for the first time since age 2, I'm not going to be in school. Hell YES to that!)
-Get a job that will allow me to both work on my music AND attend the Baking and Pastry part time program at Tante Marie's cooking school. (Yeah, I know that I just said I was quitting school, and I am, but cooking school is... different.... or something. As Mandee said, it vocational, not academic.)
-Learn the guitar.
-Re-learn and practice the piano.
-Continue working on my voice.
-Improve my songwriting skills.
There are others, but I think now that I've stopped blogging for the most part, I've gotten over putting the super personal stuff online. It's better reserved for my eyes only.
Happy New Year, everyone!
EDIT:
Okay, so I just read my post from last New Year's. Wow, I gotta say that I didn't keep any of my resolutions AND I wrote about how I didn't eat black eyed peas and I hoped that didn't mean bad luck. Right after New Years last year is when things started turning sour, so THANK GOD I ate some black eyed peas today. (For those of you who don't know, black eyed peas are supposed to be eaten on New Years Day for good luck.) Anyway, I was optimistic and happy at the end of 2006, and I'm pretty much the opposite of that right now, so here's hoping that by the end of 2008, I will be back in that happy place in my life.
