So I had a dentist appointment today....
...the word that sticks most in my mind?
"Extraction"
There's a possibility -- he couldn't get a good angle on it -- that the tooth that's been bothering me off and on the past month may be cracked all the way down to the root.
I was planning on getting a root canal on that tooth, and on the one above it. Now he's saying it might be wiser to surrender those teeth and focus on everything else, since they are the back molars, and both in really bad shape.
from a financial standpoint, it's $3500 cheaper considering crowns (out of pocket would be much less, but still pricey). From a timeline standpoint it speeds things up by over a year (maximum annual benefits on my insurance get in the way). So there's a silver lining.
Still, I'm not happy. My own damned fault, but still upsetting.
