Tracking Ike
Well, this hurricane is sure taking it's sweet time to get here. It looks as if it is headed straight for Houston...the news said this afternoon that they've recorded tropical force winds over 510 miles wide. I'm curious to see how this will pan out. Everyone was really nervous about Hurricane Gustav and it turned out to have minimal impact on Louisiana. Ike has gotten a lot of press this week...the evacuation process is more drawn out and people are unsure of whether or not they should leave, despite mandatory evacuation for much of the southern texas coastline. They are predicting substantial damage in Galveston. The storm ins not slated to hit land until roughtly midnight-1 am. Houston has been asked to "hunker down" although they could get some major flooding and wind damage.
A friend of mine JUST bought a house in southern part of Houston. I sure hope they don't sustain any damage to the house or property. That would be too bad. We haven't seen the exodus of caravans coming our way yet, but the gas pump really hurts. We're up to 3.79 near evacuation routes. I managed to find a pump at 3.59 (just last week is was 3.39)
On the weight watchers front, I am officially down 10 pounds and last week dropped 2 pounds rather than my usual 1 pound a week. AWESOME! I'm still 8 pounds from my goal weight but I don't expect to reach it before the wedding. May drop another 2-3 pounds before the wedding which would still be awesome. The weight watcher's website rarely works these days so it makes it really tough to stick with the online plan. It's annoying really. I COULD join meetings where I work, but I don't have a lot of time after school. I'm finding that I lose MORE weight if I eat not only my daily points but also a good chunk of my weekly points. I think as long as I stay within all of my points, I should continue to lose weight.
The wedding is just 4 weeks away!!! We're getting really excited. My dress is all finished at the tailors. I had to nix some of the alterations I wanted due to expenses. SO it means spending money on under garments which should be cheaper and should be the better option. I can't pick up my dress this weekend due to the pending weather. The lady is closing shop for the weekend. Still, that means there is not much left to do. I still need a hair trial but other than that, I think we're all set. Lots of "little" stuff will need to happen the week of the wedding. So exciting! I'll be sure to post pictures after the wedding!
