Frank Thomas was named AL Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10th. He has now homered in six consecutive games and has raised his batting average up to .283 after starting the season 2-25. He's among the leaders in multiple offensive categories and his team, the Oakland A's, is poised to go to the playoffs. If the White Sox were to win the american league wild card, and the A's were to have a better record than the Yankees, the White Sox and A's would play against each other in a delicious first round of the playoffs. Thomas now has 484 career home runs.
In music news, Lamb of God is the best band around, I'm traveling back in time to the land of early death and black metal, and I will be attending concerts featuring Wolfmother, The Sword, and Trivium in coming months.
