Money, fame or happiness? That's an easy one, I mean, who wants to be unhappy?
No matter what else your life situation, there ought to be something to be happy about. I mean, we weren't rich by any stretch of the imagination, the ranch had some really lean years, but I can't ever remember being really unhappy when I was a kid. Oh sure, I went through typical teenage angst, like all kids, but it was a phase.
Maybe it's because my mom is a happy person. She's always singing, always smiling. The only time I ever saw her unhappy is when one of us kids messed up, and then, it was more, disappointed.
I think it's because she's able to seee the silver lining in every cloud, the good in every situation. She taught me to do the same.
