just back! it was awesome. I'm really trying to not give too much away.
I have sentimental attachment to the first movie because it introduces the world very well, but I would say this one is my new favorite. All the performances were spot on. The special effects were outstanding. The new actors were tremendous (Imelda Staunton as Umbridge; Evanna Lynch? as Luna Lovegood; and even Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange despite very few lines). Old favorites were terrific too. Maggie Smith was a little less noticeable than usual...but had 2 really good scenes. I was glad to see Alan Rickman with a bit more to do this time around as I adore him. And the introduction of the Order was fantastic.
I saw it at an IMAX which was outstanding. The IMAX version has 20 minutes that are converted to 3D which requires the use of 3D glasses. It was pretty cool but the regular version should be spectacular enough too biggrin.gif
There are lots of little funny exchanges - I, and the crowd!, laughed out loud many times. And there are numerous small touches in scenes that really are amazing. Oh! and the Weasley twins! Fantastic!
I'm being very generic here so as to not give anything away! But I really enjoyed it! And I will probably see it again next week in a regular theatre too.
