For once I can say this is mine you can't take it...
I haven't had a minute to myself in awhile and since most of the rest of this week/weekend will be spent in class or on a plane or at a concert or in a hotel room, I decided I should update now.
So, we'll start with the class dinner last Thursday. We went to Sizzler - which I didn't even know was still in operation! - and it was a great night out. Steve and Paul couldn't make it, but everyone else was there. There's not much left of our News Media class...it started out with over 25 students at the beginning of last year.

Met up with Damo, Del, Nic, Nomi and Rach after my shift on Sunday so we could go and see Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Johnny Depp is a genius. I liked this film so much more than the cheesy musical 'original'. This version was more true to the book...and I suspect Tim Burton and Roald Dahl would have had much in common with the brilliant craziness. Oompa Loompas are scary.
Worked Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday...and last night was officially my last shift in music. It was kinda sad. It's been my home for six months. My little retreat when things downstairs are oh-so-hectic. Skye, Lucas and I in our own little music world. So, I did all the banal things I could think of, just so I could say, "This is the last time I'll tap DVDs, this is the last time I'll shelve stock, this is the last time I'll update the digital database, this is the last time I'll stock up the charts, this is the last time I'll merch the walls and endcaps..."
Which means, yes. It's official. I got the promotion. Jen and Jase asked me into their office on Friday afternoon and said I was successful and they'd like me to fill the position. It became available on Monday, but because I have most of this week off, they're holding it for me until next Monday. Which is when I begin. I'm nervous and excited as all hell. Office Co-ordinator. Pay rise, Monday - Friday OR Tuesday to Saturday, depending on the deputy OC's schedule...GARGH!
Today will be spent packing, stressing, shopping (I need "office" clothes!!), sitting for my Ls at last, then going to classes, and hopefully getting some sleep before heading out on a 6am flight tomorrow morning! Melbourne, Boyz II Men, Star City and Guy, here we come!
