For those not Mayer-adept, Covered In Rain is a song he wrote using the same characters in City Love - on the Room For Squares album. City Love was written before 9/11 and is about a couple falling love in New York city. Covered In Rain was written post-9/11 as their relationship becomes more dependent in a world that will never be the same.
