so it was my mom's birthday last monday (week ago today), and this past friday she took the day off and decided to go car shopping with my dad. she decided to treat herself to a jaguar xk8 convertible in sapphire blue with a white interior. i was not at all thrilled at the idea of her buying a jag, but the car is so damn gorgeous. now i want to drive it.
saturday we took it out for her maiden voyage to sacramento. my mom's aunts pete and alline are in sac visiting pete's son russell (who is my mom's cousin). my cousin kerry who lives in fallon, nev. with her son also came down to russell's, and basically we had a mini-reunion. i had so much fun. kerry and i get along so well, we were laughing and talking within seconds of seeing each other. so we cooked and ate and talked and ate and talked some more. oh, man. and the fried bread. aunt pete's specialty. it sounds disgusting, but good night, soooooooooo yummy. loads of fun. and when we drove home, we put the top down. i love driving in the dark with the top down.
sunday. not so much fun. had our discussion about grades (yuck!). my parents went to some art fair in san jose, leaving me home alone. it was glorious. read the paper outside and worked on my tan, then went to the library. in the past three weeks i have read:
the da vinci code, deception point, angels and demons, the devil wears prada, and lost.
all tremendously good books, but now i don't have anything to read. this is very disheartening. i almost hate my love of reading because i tend to sit down and finish the book in one sitting, rather than read a few chapters one day, and a few the next, etc. yesterday, i got home from the library at 5:00pm and at 5:05 i was in my bed with the shade partly up and the window open, with my glass of ice water. the next time i moved was at 7:30 to refill my glass and ask about dinner. we didn't eat because my parents had eaten a late lunch, and that damned fried bread is so filling! but so tasty! i did my spanish homework yesterday morning, so at four, when i came home, i plopped down on the bed and read lost by joy fielding until about an hour ago when we did actually eat dinner. very good, i recommend it. all the books i've recently read, i would recommend.
so now i have nothing to do. well, there's a lot of things i should be doing, but none of them are all that fun.

and i have nothing to read.
