Heading to the city for the weekend, which reminds me of something one of my University of Texas authors said at a conference in Vancouver. She knows the company I work for is in NJ, and when I mentioned the possibility of my moving into "the city," she got this puzzled look on her face and then said, "Trenton? Is Trenton the city in NJ?" I forget, in my new-found NY-centric view of the world, that there are other cities in the world besides the fair and exciting Manhattan. Even that is provincial of me, since "the city" comprises all the boroughs. Sorry, all you Brooklynites.
Things are going well with Will, relatively speaking. He and I had a great time last night at the mall; he's absolutely the most fun person to go shopping with. He has great and fantastic taste, he loves looking at clothes and shoes and stuff, and he's got an incredible sense of humor. His taste mostly aligns with mine, but we do feel differently about boots. So we spent a half hour in the Nordstrom shoe department examining each pair. He is just so much fun. That boy really needs to do something creative with his life -- if only his LJ weren't friends-only (willygoat), you should all check it out. His entries are hilarious and include really amazing images that he creates. So I had fun with him last night, and that's a Good Thing.
