She ran the vacuum through the den, humming to herself. She’d felt almost normal, these past few weeks Nate had been there. It was nice to have a reason to care again, to keep up with the housework and to cook. She never had the energy to do it for herself, and she’d missed it so much… She sighed, looking around for places she’d routinely missed in her long months of apathetic solitude. There. Dust infestations under the couch. She hiked her skirt up to free her knees as she settled down on them, bending over to get the attachment as far under the couch as she could.

As she slid from one end to the other, she pulled her skirt higher, trying to keep it out of the dust. A shake of her head to get her hair out of her eyes widened her field of vision, and she realized that Nate was standing frozen in the doorway, eyes locked on her rear, too caught up in watching her to notice she’d spotted him. A flush of embarrassment died away quickly, replaced by smug satisfaction. It had been a long time since a man had looked like that at her. Pretending to just be shifting to continue her work, she ran a shapely leg against the other, revealing even more of her thigh. She let her hair fall into her face, shielding her from his eyes, so she could bite her lip unnoticed. She couldn’t help thinking of what she could do to that man, desire building in her so strongly, having been denied for too long. Another quick glance told her she wasn’t mistaken; his body was quite willing, whatever his head might say.

And men weren’t all that good at listening to their heads when other parts were involved.
