Yesterday was my 6 year anniversary with Louis. Six years sounds like such a long time, but it has flown by.

We went out with our friends Brian and Karen to Louies106 on 6th street. I had some awesome seafood risotto with super fresh, tender, sweet jumbo sea scallops, shrimp, and lobster consomme. Karen got the same thing. Lou got a beautiful certified black angus New York Strip steak, cooked to a perfect medium-rare and served with herb roasted potatoes and red wine demi-glace. Brian got the CAB ribeye with some awesome sour cream and chive mashed potatoes and demi glace. For dessert, lou had apparently told them it was our anniversary when he made the reservation, so they brought us their flourless bittersweet chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream, raspberry coulis, and caramel sauce, topped with a sparkler.

Except for the mixup with Lou's card being double charged, since the waitress didnt think the first swipe was read (@ the bottom of the slip it showed 2 charges to his card though), it was a great meal. We had some lovely cocktails (only one for me, since I am not supposed to drink more than that... stupid brain) with our appetizers (calamari and this flaming greek cheese with pitas and garnishes... yum!) which were also tasty.

It has been a wonderful 6 years, and I can't wait for the next 50.
