Apparently when you suffer a heart attack, and lose the ability to breathe or what have you, your not really dead. your cells are all alive... for many hours after you have stopped breathing. and the reinstituion of oxygen to those cells is actually what kills you... a.k.a. CPR. So their working on a method of reintroducing oxygen to those cells in a slower way in order to bring you back to life.
