" Increasingly autonomous, gun-toting robots developed for warfare could easily fall into the hands of terrorists and may one day unleash a robot arms race, a top expert on artificial intelligence told AFP.

pssh. I think this is more than a little foolish. Have they considered the threat posed to people by autonomous, gun-toting *humans*? A hypothetical terrorist-bot would have a much harder time blending into a crowd.

The proposed remedy is even sillier. Any robot with a hand can hold a gun. Any robot with an eye can aim one. Would they ban automobiles because they're useful in warfare and could fall into the hands of terrorists?
