The shed has arrived, and has been put up.
Most of it was done on Saturday. I spent most of the saturday morning digging trenches in which to lay foundation blocks. It was backbreaking work, especially as the ground is quite stony. The trenches only went down about 8 or 9 inches, though, so it only took 4 hours (6 trenches). Then the shed itself went up. The wrost of this was the rain coming down just as the roof started going on. I'd been keeping this roof indoors since it arrived on Thursday to protect it from the weather, since it's made out of chipboard. So, obviously, the moment the time comes to get the stuff outside and up, the rain starts. Consequently, I spend the next half hour or so hurridly nailing roofing felt in place in an attempt to get it protected before the rain does any damage. I got very wet.
Still, it's done at least. The door got hung on Monday, and all that remains is the fit the windows. I'd have fitted them by now but they didn't actually arrive with the rest of it; I'm currently in a wrangle with B&Q trying to get some perspex delivered.
Stiil, shiny new shed. Much bigger than my old one, and it looks it too, since most of the stuff from the old shed is still in the cupboard under the stairs. Ho hum.
