Title: Being Leader
Rating: G
Note: Saranghaeyo, Leeteuk oppa. Happy Birthday.
When Eeteuk was named leader of Super Junior, he was very nervous, because he knew what a huge job lay ahead of him.
Super Junior's success was his responsibility, in a way. Each member in their makeshift family was looking to him to lead.
Every mistake, every accident felt like it was his fault.
So he would try harder.
Sometimes Eeteuk would get depressed by little failures, or antis, or just feel overwhelmed by it all. Then he would write in his Cyworld late at night, before crawling under the covers to confide with Yesung and get it all out.
But then he would always go back to work.
The accident was the scariest thing that had ever happened to him, and he felt like it was his fault in a way too. If only he'd ended the show a few minutes earlier, so they wouldn't have had to drive so fast. If only he had let Kyuhyun sit in the front seat.
Whenever he'd talk like this, Kangin would bop him on the head and tell him to stop it, he was being silly. But then he would hold Eeteuk in his arms and whisper that it wasn't his fault, he didn't do anything wrong.
Eeteuk really just wanted to be Super Junior forever, but he knew someday it would have to end, and that was maybe the saddest, scariest thought of all.
But really, it was all worth it. All the stress, all the tears. Leading Super Junior was Eeteuk's proudest accomplishment, something he was sure he'd never be able to top.
