Let the fannishness begin.

While I've been away, I've acquired several new fandoms.

1. Samurai Champloo -  I got the DVD for Christmas, and even though I never thought I'd like the anachronistic anime which mixes ancient Japan and hip-hop (wtf?), I quite enjoyed this series.  =)  Squee-o-meter:  Liked, but not involved in fandom.

2. Final Fantasy X - I honestly have no idea how I got into this one.  I've never played any of the games.  o_o  A friend mentioned how much she liked it, I wiki'd it and liked the story (aww, Tidus/Yuna!), and I found AMVs and cutscenes and liked the graphics.  Squee-o-meter:  I watched the entire walkthrough of FFX on YouTube (okay, okay, and FFX2, I admit it, alright?!), discussed it with Alex and Nick and have promised to play it with them someday, and even read fanfiction.  @_@  But the obsessive phase has passed.  -_-;

3. Death Note - Canadian Cousin Greg, who likes to share manga/anime with me, burned the Deathnote movies for me, but knowing how different those adaptations could be, I decided to watch the anime first.  It was very intelligent, intense, thought-provoking, and pretty much awesome.  Squee-o-meter:  I can see what all the fuss is about now, but more of a one-time experience for me.  Not involved in fandom, but will watch the movies eventually.

4. Ouran High School Host Club - THE BIGGIE.  Amanda recommended it to me once, and I finally gave it a try.  LOVED since the first episode and continued to love until the very last!  It is by far the funniest anime show I've ever watched!  It is a brilliant parody of "girly" manga/anime while still being as cute and romantic as the stuff it makes fun of.  I love every character and every story.  <3  Squee-o-meter:  Way into this fandom right now.  Especially for Ootori "The Cool Type" Kyouya, whom I worship *points to icon*.  He is the reason I finally sat down and wrote my first fanfiction.  (No, you can't read it!  ><)  *sigh*  Kyouya...  He almost needs his own category.  XD

ouran, anime, video games
