Family Time

Yesterday, Maggie, Rachel, and I watched Iron Man, and it was pretty freakin' sweet.  XD
I'd have to say it's probably the best superhero flick made so far.  =O  (Okay, so I haven't even finished watching Batman Begins even though I'm a Bat-fan, but I've been afraid of the suckitude of turning everyone young and casting Katie Holmes as a love interest and Liam Neeson as a Middle-Eastern guy, but I will finish it eventually!)  Anyway, besides the brief love for the 90's X-Men cartoon, I've never been much of a Marvel fan, much less an Iron Man fan, but I've been really excited about this movie since I saw the trailer.  (I don't know why!  They just made it look so cool!)  Boy, did they deliver.  The writing was solid, the pace was good, it had comedy, action, romance, and drama, all in good measure.  The acting, especially, was top though.  Robert Downey, Jr. was absolutely perfect as Tony Stark.  I mean, I barely know the character, I've never read him in comics, I only know him from playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but he just totally owned that role.  The rest of the cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeff Bridges, were really great, but for all the hype, I'm frankly underwhelmed by Terrence Howard's acting and slightly put-off by his voice.  Maybe if I saw his critically-acclaimed work in Crash or perhaps in the Iron Man sequel?  But anyway, even the music score was exciting and fun to match the feel of the film.  I really, really enjoyed this movie, and I highly recommend it, whether you know comics or not.  (Oh, and by the way, I advise everyone to stay through the credits.  ;-)
Afterwards, we ate lunch with Mom at CiCi's.  YUM!  Then Mom, Rachel, and I drove home to T-ville.  Later, we watched Enchanted on my laptop.  It was so cute and funny!  It's a really good movie.  =)  It kinda makes me miss the Disney animated movies even more though.  ;_;  It's such a shame they decided not to make those anymore.  D:

Also, I played the piano again, and I sucked.  XP  I've practiced those simple Clementi and Bach pieces on my keyboard in G-ville for awhlie, but I just couldn't do it on the real piano anymore.  It's so heavy and loud and hard to play now.  T_T

So I'm home now.  Don't really have any plans though, besides planning to make plans to hang out with friends.  ^^'  Oh, and I'm really glad Maggie let me take my laptop with me!  *huggles laptop*
