Year of the Ox
Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! :D To mark the occasion, I wore a red top and gold earrings today, and I cooked noodles and dumplings for dinner and ate a mandarin orange. ^_^ Here's to a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year for all you friends and family! <3
I'm excited because I finally got Maggie to watch Ouran, and *gasp* she actually likes it! 8D! I've been telling her for months that it's the funniest anime I've ever seen and that she'd appreciate the humor, too, but she's stubbornly against anime, especially stereotypically eyeroll-inducing cutesy girly shows. Yesterday, however, she was bored enough to let me put in the DVD and gave it a chance. I was so happy that she found it funny, too, even though we're more than half-way through the show and she still can't remember the characters' names. XD' So far, she is baffled by Honey, creeped out by Kyouya, and disturbed but aslo highly amused by the Hikaru/Kaoru TWINCEST. lol. Now if only she'd listen to me about L'Arc~en~Ciel and our similar taste in music a la U2? Nah, that's pushing it. ;P
I listened to the recording of tetsu's performance at JACK IN THE BOX 2008. (Thanks to tsukikei, who directed me to Pieces forum, where I found it posted by Viktor-HYDEist, who got it from tsuya @ 19691003 bbs. *phew*) He sang two unreleased songs: "Lonely Girl" sounds like a sweet poppy ballad. "Fresh" is cute and upbeat, but I was very surprised to find that I'd already heard it before! @_@ I have a live recording of tetsu singing it, and it's labeled "fuyu no shinkyoku in concert." (I don't actually remember where I downloaded it from, but it was a couple of years ago. XD') The song had reminded me of his "KIOTO" live cover of TOKIO's "Love You Only," so I had just assumed it was another old school jpop song cover, but does this mean that "fuyu no shinkyoku" (anyone know what that means?) or "Fresh"(?) is actually an original tetsu song he performed back in his TETSU69 days? Or is it indeed a cover he did at JITB? And what about "Lonely Girl?" *confused* o_0
