As sucky as the image is, this is a huge benchmark. I've been researching/working on this project for weeks!
Basically, I made my own b&w emulsion in a lab, then coated it to a glass plate, exposed, and printed it.
It's only sensitive to blue light and very, very slow (ISO 3?) and also prone to dust and defects. But it's mine, and I made it! This image is a scan of a print, 8x10", with some toning added in photoshop. And the good news is, I've coated four more, except better this time, with what ought to be better contrast.
