Starting to come together...

I had a horrible night last night. I woke up with such horrible cramping pains in my stomach that I spent about the hour between 4 and 5 am doubled over on the bathroom floor with a hot water bottle pressed against my stomach. If giving birth hurts more than that then I'm quite happy that I will never experience that particular "joy".

I still managed to get up a lot earlier than I usually would have on a Sunday and have managed to turn it into an extremely productive day. Samuel called about a table he found on Gumtree and we went to see it. We made the decision to buy it on the spot and went back home to ask my grandparents to h elp us move it.

I used the time Samuel was out of the house to record my contribution to the Halloween episode of the NoSleep Podcast (A story called Snapshot). I think that this turned out really well and feel as though I am getting a lot better at the whole "in character" thing. I enjoy the narration a lot more if I can convey emotion rather than just reading.

I also (finally) finished my letter to Mick, my penpal in New York, and did some other work around the house.

The table is beautiful. It is solid oak and measures 80x80. We have not had a dining table since we lived alone in our flat and used to eat at it every day. We don't actually have any chairs for it yet but we improvised and managed to sit and eat the dinner that Samuel made at it and felt considerably more civilised than we would have done sitting on the couch in front of the telly!

Having a table means that we may be able to invite James and JJ to join us for Thanksgiving provided we're able to get some chairs and new crockery before then. I'm unsure if the table can seat four people comfortably though.

... my writing seems to suck these days. All my posts look really dull to me.
