Yes and it's happened back to me the other way too.

This may be an obvious question, but which did you think was worse?

I'd have to say when I said it and they didn't say it back cause all they did was just look at me. When I had it said to me I said "what did you just say?" and they told me again that they loved me and I think I wording was "Oh get outta town" so I don't know how they took it but I was just shocked where the other way I was gutted

Also, in my last relationship, the 3.5 year epic relationship, I stopped saying it about the 3 year mark and my ex kept going for about an extra year.

I agree. In my 5 year relationship, I feel like I went way past the right point and was just saying it out of habit for the last year or so.
