We watched these news clips in Psychology and Criminal Justice today. In one, this kid, David Cash, watched while his friend grabbed a 7 year old girl in a bathroom stall. He was restraining her and covering her mouth so she wouldn't scream. Cash said nothing to his friend, and left the bathroom. His friend went on to rape and stranggle the little girl to death. Afterwords he came out of the bathroom told Cash what he'd done. And the two of them went on with their night. Cash never told anyone. When they finally figured out who his friend was and arrested him, Cash didn't show any remorse. He went on the radio and said why should he feel bad, he didn't do anything. He didn't know the kid was going to do that, it wasn't his problem. He wouldn't do anything differently. Cash was never charged with anything.
Just listening to him talk. It was awful. It's enough to make you sick. Obviously that kid was going to do something bad to that little girl, whether he was going to kill her or not. And Cash just let it happen. A little girl is dead because he didn't feel it was his problem. And he doesn't feel bad at all. And it's not like it was some random violent act someone walks in apon. It's not like the kid had a weapon or anything. It was your friend, unarmed. You're in no danger if you try to interfear. How can he live with himself. There is obviously something seriously wrong with him. I mean, that's the mind of a psychopath.
Then we watched one about a battered woman, whose daughter was beaten to death by her husband. And we got in this disscution afterwords. Though it was mainly the class against my teacher. But she thinks that it's ridiculous that the woman never left her husband after all the ridiculous abuse she received.
She kinda made me mad. I mean, I would like to believe that I would never ever let a man hit me, and then stay in that relationship a second longer. But it happens to so many women. And I think it's easier than one would like to believe to get sucked in. To think that they'll change, to think that you deserve it, to put up with it because you love that person. I mean, you just don't know until you're in that situation, how you would react. No matter how ridiculous it seems.
I've put up with being ignored and treated poorly because I loved a guy so much. And I never would have broken up with him because I loved him too much to let him go, even though I wasn't being treated the way I deserved anymore. I don't think I would ever let a guy hit me or be verbaly abusive to me, but with different people there's different levels of what you'll put up with because you love them, or because of how you feel about your self. I just don't see how my professor doesn't understand how people can fall into the trap of an abusive relationship.

[ ]I've licked a frozen pole and got stuck there. (I was way to chicken to do that.)
[ ] I've stayed up til 2 doing homework/projects. (I get my work done on time!)

[x] I've fallen flat on my face.
