1) [Combat]

[You're in a pitched battle when a Black and Blood Red machine dives into the fray, letting loose a barrage of gunfire. He took out whatever was attacking you - but the problem was you were fighting in a city! Those shots he fired off just blasted open a building that had yet to be evacuated, causing who knows how many casualties! And it ( Read more... )

[Almost immediately the Shiranui grabs the enemy that you just took out and jumps in the way of the barrage of gunfire. Using the corpse as a shield he advanced up getting closer and closer to the AC until he was right up in it's face.]

If you don't practice some trigger discipline soon you might hit the reactor. I'm sure you don't want to be part of that explosion.

[Now this was something he can get. One of his guns is raised to the air while he carefully tracks the others and fires with careful bursts.]

Anything else you want to add that everyone else didn't? There wasn't a fucking reactor in the goddamn briefing.

I'm not talking about one in the building.

[The frame of the machine he was holding falls apart revealing that it's reactor that looked ready to explode. Which is promptly tossed at another group above them taking it out.]

I was talking about the one that I was just threatening you with. Now if you're done with with wasting both ammo and time, I'd appreciate it if you would try to complete this mission without causing any more casualties.

[He made a note of this. The reactors of machines back in Layered were not as volatile as above ground... maybe not Kisaragi's reactors though... bah, a tangent for another time.]

We haven't taken any casualties as far as I've checked. Or is this another spiel about protecting civilians?

Yeah it is and if you have a problem with it you can go find another job that doesn't involve us merc. If not then at least pretend that you have some skill other than just killing civilians.

Funny. I was about to tell you to get out of my way if you didn't like how I do things boy soldier. And for your information. My skill?

[At this he fires at an enemy that soon rounded a corner to attack the both of them. The barrage perforates it - with one hitting it right in the reactor. Time seems to almost slow down as it begins to fall.]

Is killing things.

[One heartbeat. Two.]

Boom

[Detonation. The building the enemy machine rounded is blasted apart, as are others close by it. If there were any other foes following - they would have been eliminated too.]

There aren't any civilians on the battlefield. Only people who kill or get killed. Simple as that.

[As soon as you finish that sentence a single bullet whizzes past the head of your AC.]

This is the only warning you'll get. Leave now.

(OoC: Scary face battle!)

[One does not simply threaten a Mercenary. While the IFF registers the Shiranui as a friendly, it only takes a few quick keystrokes to change that. Green turns to red, and the missile rack on the Nevermore's back flips open as he locks on to the TSF. Unlike Takeru - Ryou simply pulls the trigger. No warning shots. He's an enemy now. Eleven missiles heading your way! The AC is boosting up among the buildings as well.]

Bring it on then.

[The moment Takeru spots the missiles coming towards him he boost jumps straight at them unleashing his own barrage of shells while flying directly towards the AC. While he was able to take out most of them a few of them were able to slam into the chest of the machine. Explosions exposing some machinery.

He was fine with taking some damage if it meant closing the distance as quickly as possible. The mount pylon raised up as he closed in, Takeru grabbing the sword mounted on it with his left hand and swinging down diagonally at the AC the moment he came within striking range. Assault Cannon at the ready in case anything went awry.]

[Tiny problem there Takeru, those missiles you shot burst into a rain of shrapnel - possibly damaging the exposed sections the missiles that actually DID hit even more, and probably nicking your TSF's armor quite a bit. As for the sword swing - if Takeru wants a sword fight, he'd get one! The Nevermore lurches as it boosts backwards, its left arm swings vertically at the blade - a rather hopeless prospect normally, but the object on the ACs arm soon flares to life and emits a bright red blade of energy!

Ryou was attempting to force a deadlock - his swing also having the side effect of unleashing a blade wave!]

[That's fine, it's a well known fact that TSFs can continue operating no matter what damage it takes. Having a very secure cockpit block helps with that a lot. It's not like it's mobility would be affected either ( ... )

[Things... escalate... This is bad, Takeru was clearly showing how far the skill gap between the two of them was. Armor was getting shredded and it wouldn't be long before his AC was either forced out of Combat and kicks in an Auto-Retreat or is just outright destroyed! Well he won't be staying around here longer that's for sure - he pulls off an emergency disconnect on the arm that Takeru caught before firing every remaining rocket and unleashing the Exceed Orbit Gun Drone on his back on the TSF.]

Tch!!!

[He can't handle this. He'd have to bug out. Takeru! The AC is now tearing through buildings to get away from you!]
