[Milestone battles are best capstoned by the victory celebrations following them, and tonight is no exception.  Especially when Gregory hauled out a massive keg filled with booze.]

Now then... hangovers tomorrow be damned, who wants to get drunk off their ass?

[Luka's got the same idea (don't ask me why she's not on the Galleon), and is surprised that there's someone else there.]

Another stargazer, I assume?

[Gregory turns to Luka and then just shrugs.]

You could say that. I'm just... thinking is all though. The stars don't matter as much as the planets that are near them, though.

There's a lot of planets out there. I've only been to a small portion of 'em.

You have been?

[Now you've got Gregory's attention!]

... What are they like?

[Luka looked down]

It depends... on if the Zangyack have been there or not.

... Yes. Unfortunately there certainly are a large number of groups out there that seem to express nothing but ill will towards other.

I was just wondering... how many of those really are there out there? Do they out number those that aren't? Humanity's not been fortunate with meeting many compassionate alien races.

I only know the Zangyack, but they're bad enough for me.

[small smirk]

You do realize that I'm not human, right?

Well now I do, but please remember I never said every alien humanity's met has wanted to harm them.

Besides...

I myself am a bit of an oddity. I... don't know if I'm human or not.

Well then, you've got it better than most, then. You don't know, you pick. It's good enough for me.

It's... not that easy.

There certainly was a Gregory Winthrop at some time or another. I just don't know if I really am him anymore or just an imitation.

Do you want to be Gregory Winthrop?

All I can do at this time is trust in my identity as such. But that said it's an uncertainty that eats at me, and I'd much rather find out if only for the sake of determining if I'm a hypocrite or not.

If you think you're him, and you want to be him, and no one else claims they're him, than you're probably him.

If I'm an imitation, it's because I killed the real Gregory. Either that or let him die when I could have prevented it.

Percolatii imitate the people they kill flawlessly... like the Worms in the Kamen Rider Kabuto documentaries.

The problem with morality here is... if I kill someone, and perfectly imitate them, is it a crime? What's more, should I punish others for the same crime I myself may be guilty of and try to rationalize thinking "all I can do is have faith that I'm really Gregory"?

You're doing what you feel is right, right?

Yes. It's all I can do at the moment.

MarKus needs help and TECZ has become a shadow of its former self.
