I've been...I've been meaning to ask this since I got here.
Is it normal for a bird to become human? Because I don't think I've ever heard of that happening before.

[The outdoors! It's a beautiful unseasonably warm day in Mayfield and Negeki is standing on his lawn....not leaving the shadow of the house. He's sort of reluctant to go any farther especially considering it's been five years since he's actually been outside.
However, he slowly moves towards the edge of the shadow. When he finally manages to step out in the open, he realizes it's not that bad.]
I've forgotten what it's like to be outside. I kinda missed it.

[Old habits die hard. You can find Negeki in the library reading. Also for some reason he's sitting at that table in the back corner talking to himself.]
These books are just as bad as the assigned reading back at school.
