You've really never seen a TV like this before?

[A very very very cheesy mecha anime is playing.]

"No. Distribution media was done through three-dimensional hologram networks" she explains, still looking at the screen. She seems kind of curious. "This seems to lose veracity, but... it adds a certain mythic touch by using simple icons in movement. It's less like watching a situation than the holograms, and more like a representation of a storyteller's drawings of an old legend during the hour of fire"

At that moment, a particularly cheesy line about bravery and fighting spirit and proving your friendship through fighting makes Samus's lips seem to inch upwards ever so slightly. "Legends indeed. Where war is glorious and blood runs hot"

Ah so those must have been the standards used in your time, this must all be so archaic to you.

I'm surprised that you are ale to appreciate it though, most of the time people like to laugh at how old these shows are.

[Seeing her interest brought a smile to Ichitaka.]

Of course next comes the finishing attack, SHINE SPARK.

[He called it out at the exact same moment it was shouted.]

""Archaic" is not really a useful term. Every sentient has something to teach" Samus replies, mentioning one of the mantras of her Chozo "father".

"Shine Spark?"

Despite how old it is, that sounds nice.

[However he is completely caught off guard by Samus suddenly staring at him.]

Yes Shine Spark, it's an attack they used by forming energy around them then ramming it into a enemy.

[Unfortunately they can't chain them together.]

"So it is. I have heard that name before" Samus mentions. "Cosmic consciousness rippling through worlds, perhaps"

[To have one of the Chozo warrior techniques pop its head in a legend from another world... well. Samus is legitimately interested in your cheesy anime now, my friend!]

Wow really? Maybe it's a common thing in most worlds then.

[Samus is so much nicer than the other blonde power armor using woman that he knows.]

Where did you hear it from?

chozo_girl October 23 2011, 22:47:58 UTC
"The Shine Spark I know is a technique used by Chozo warriors. I heard it from my teacher as I learned to perform it. And it is in fact very similar to the one pictured in your television" Samus says.

She then sits down, since the conversation seems to be fairly interesting. Beats the boring weeks of inaction they've had lately. "The Chozo believe there is a unity among all sentient beings. A cosmic consciousness, if you will, that acts as an universal balance. And the exact same technique developed by people not merely worlds but universes apart might point towards there being a shared something between us, perhaps"

Ah so sort of like the Collective Unconscious or Morphic Fields or even the Akashic Records. Even some of our ideology is similar so that could also help to prove it's existence. It would be amazing though if those things even expanded to different universes.

[This conversation has gotten DEEP.]

The Chozo sound very interesting though, to be thinking of things like that and performing their own Shine Spark.

[Samus was raised by birds who had philosophizing about the nature of the universe as a hobby. The casual DEEP is how you know she is in a good mood :P]

"Yes. I would be interested in learning more about these ideas" Samus points out, simply. Is Ishitaka knowledgeable about all this Akashic Record philosophy stuff?

"And yes, the Chozo are an interesting people. They are a very old race, and they learned much. But the Shine Spark was a relic of the days of war. Few could really perform it anymore"

[So what's she like in a bad mood? Very monologue heavy? Something about a baby? Going through lava filled areas without her Varia suit?]

Are you sure you're alright with learning about them from a kid?

[Oh sure he knows about this stuff but most of this was just random studying after he saw the concepts in video games and anime.]

[If you mention Other M again I will gut you and leave your organs hanging as a warning. Now more seriously, generally when in a bad mood she just doesn't speak period :P]

"Should I not be?"

Wait, was that ribbing? Samus's deadpan makes it hard to know...

This conversation should be canon when Samus joins thestrayhawk October 24 2011, 18:55:39 UTC
[Yes ma'am I understand ma'am I won't mention it again please don't hurt me.]

Most people wouldn't take a 15 year old seriously, especially when it comes to philosophy.

Though with that response I guess you should be fine with it.

[He takes a deep breath.]

The Akashic Records according to what I've read up on was a compendium of knowledge existing on another plane of existence that contained all knowledge of human experience and the history of the universe. There were claims of some people being able to access it which gave them knowledge of things that were yet to happen or things that had been lost and forgotten.

Fine by me! chozo_girl October 24 2011, 21:07:25 UTC
[Just don't do it again and we'll get along just fine :P]

"Age is not the measure of wisdom. Wisdom is the measure of wisdom" Samus points out, in her usual calm deadpan. "The question you should be asking yourself is not whether you are too young, but if you are wise enough"

She listens to Ishikawa's explanation attentively. "That seems fairly distinct from Chozo beliefs"

Doesn't seem to be about to actually speak about them unless asked, though. Not much for speaking long unless prompted.

Slightly I guess, I was just comparing those two on a very simple level. The more direct comparison would be the theory of Morphic Fields in which the Akashic Records can be related to.

Morphic Fields are the belief that there is a field around all living beings that influences their thoughts or actions. This field connects all of us and gives people their inspirations for their ideas from a collected mass of information within the field. Suppose for a moment that the field extends past universal boundaries, that could be the reason why both the Chozo in your universe and the animators in mine both gained inspiration for the Shine Spark.

Maybe it's the reason why the theory of that unity appeared in both universes as well.
