Hey. So... I heard what happened.
[Saunters into the studio, taking a soft drag and exhaling the smoke with a sigh. Sliding his back down the wall and dropping onto his rear, roughly level with her now]
People die... Friends. Family. When its their time... its their time.
[Was flicking his lighter open and closed as he spoke]

[Kyoku sniffed, rubbing at her eyes as she looked up at him. They were already red with hours of crying.] It wasn't... wasn't even in battle it was just so sudden...
That's life for you. At least the guy's getting a chance for one...
Hell. At least his body's still in one piece and in the casket.
[Luger shivers uncontrollably as the memories of what he's seen on the way out of his home seeped into his mind. No. Now was not-. He puts out his cigarette on the back of his hand. No. He wasn't having a panic attack now. A sharp breath and the pain lets him focus and lets him have some clarity.]
Kyoku. Every person I knew for more than a single second, and people I never even met before I got on this boat? They're gone. In one of the most horrible ways imaginable. And to top that off the only person who'll remember just a bare handful of them is me... and I'm not even that healthy.
[Luger flicks the spent butt into a waste basket close by before putting a hand on her shoulder.]
You can't be at the funeral. Tough. But he'd probably understand. Just make it up to him by visiting the grave.
You have a point. [Kyoku pulls her knees up to her chest and wraps her arms around it.]
I knew being part of Project DIVA would mean I would lose someone someday. I fight to make sure no one dies and protect the world from the Noise. And yet... it just feels hard, when I lose just one person.

That should be of some comfort.
Did he feel any pain when he went? Any suffering?
[A flick open]
If not. Then its probably a better death than most others.

[She sighs.] I know. I just... I just wish I could be there for the funeral. We were close, y'know? He taught me about how to compose music.

You do that kid. He'll probably be happy to see you. Well...yeah you know what I mean.
[With that he gets up and lights up another one. His eye watching the flickering flame of his lighter as it did its work.]

Yeah, I'll do that then.
