[Fate jumped at that. What in the world? Peeking into the hangar, she noticed Roads there maniacally laughing. Oooookay...]

Um, what's complete?

[Roads almost jumps out of his skin at the interruption]

Ah!

Um, I was just doing some fine-tuning on the Zweilicht, when I found some spare parts, and one thing led to another, and then...

[The robot he's standing in front of now looks like it could eat a fortress for breakfast, and still have enough firepower left over for dessert.]

...Well, I stuck on guns and armor up to just below the frame's theoretical maximum, along with explosive bolts to jettison them mid-battle.

[Fate stared for a moment. What is this monstrosity?]

Are you sure you can even move it, or does it need to be driven out on an anti-grav sled?

Well, technically it has an anti-gravity sled built into the additional armor, what with the Tesla Drives and all...

Yes but wouldn't most of the power be diverted to that system instead of the firepower, thus decreasing the effectiveness of powering all of those guns?

...Which is what I used that extra Minovsky Reactor I found for...

But wouldn't it interfere with the Tesla Drives?

Reply

punches_vamps August 7 2011, 16:48:53 UTC
Nah, they just need enough electrical energy to run properly. The extra generator does most of the work for powering the weaponry, while the Zweilicht's built-in one handles the maneuvering.

..Oh, by the way, could I get a chance to look at Bardice sometime? The Zweilicht's slightly magical, but Midchildan tech seems to be a lot better along those lines than our current stuff.

Oh I see! I haven't really dealt with mecha for a while so I wasn't too certain. Devices are much simpler.

Sure I'm all right with you doing so. Mind if I stay while you look at him? Bardiche can be finicky like that.

Sure, no problem.
He's an AI that resides in the Device, right?

riot_zanber August 7 2011, 17:11:52 UTC
That's right. Bardiche is the governing AI of the device itself. It would be more prudent to say however that Bardiche IS the device.

Hm, Mobile Suits don't have anything quite like that...there must be some pretty crazy math going on if you need an AI to help run the thing.

Advanced Calculus in my head. That's how high of a math we need.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

...well, do you have to come up with precise numeric results, or just hit somewhere in the general area?

Reply

riot_zanber August 7 2011, 17:47:52 UTC
Precise. Very precise.

Well damn.

No wonder you guys are better with magic...The most advanced stuff the Zweilicht gets is "More power" or "Even more power". I imagine there's a lot of wasted energy in there you can cut down on.
