And the winner is... Mio.redfckngcometMay 30 2011, 01:29:57 UTC
[ Char approaches the young-looking girl, with completely innocent intentions (I SWEAR.) Clad in his Zeon uniform and a pair of expensive-looking designer sunglasses that are three times more effective at shielding UV rays than regular sunglasses, the man simply stands at attention, his hands laced behind his back. A professional manner never hurt, even though Char had yet to officially enlist.
The Red Comet said nothing. Being the first to arrive at Mio's unit, he felt it best to remain silent until others had arrived. ]
[[Mio was not unaware that someone had approached. This wasn't intended as a meeting for her squad, she was just standing there, enjoying the breeze and the sky.
They're flying black alien that literally, eat land. It is our job as Strike Witches to destroy them.
But if it's as you say, and mobile suits out perform standard planes, then, there must be something only us Witches can do that makes these mobile suits inefficient.
Mobile Suits weren't designed to fight these 'neuroi' things. They are tools of war, constructed to fight other human beings.
But to answer your question, they consist of heavy armor, reflective shields that can withstand high impact projectiles, and some even have anti-beam coatings or I-Fields to disperse beam weaponry.
I personally prefer high-mobility mobile suits, simple because I make it a point to bring back every mobile suit I pilot in one piece. Very rarely have I even had a scratch on mine.
You understand I'm not fully familiar with all of this. But, I suppose that's to be expected. You've lived in space, haven't you. In those colonies I've heard of.
I've not seen any conventional metals that can withstand an attack from a Neuroi, but our shields can hold their weight against their beams.
Though I suppose I wouldn't mind trying my hand at fighting a Neuroi. It would be an interesting change of pace from the same old Federation mobile suits or ships.

After a bit though, she'd speak up.]]
Enjoying the view as well?

I prefer space, personally.
[ A true statement. Earth wasn't without it's beauty, but to Char, nothing beat the vast expanses of stars in all directions. ]

[[She'll turn to give him a little notice. At least the look on her face isn't loli, just the body.]]
Those... humanoid machines. Mobile Suits? Are those capable of moving in space?
Reply
Space, land... some of them can even go underwater.
Reply
But, are they not slow and cumbersome? [[Bitches don't know about your triple the speed.]]
Reply
[ Of course they don't. But Char isn't a braggart, either. ]

Hmm... [[She stops to ponder this. If they out class jets...]]
Then there must be something to the Neuroi themselves that makes those machines incapable of destroying them.

[ Now it's his turn to ask questions. ]

What manner of defenses do they use?

[ That is, before he met Amuro. ]
