"--irritating thing... why couldn't they make it simpler to operate? Oh wait, does the light mean it's on? OH by Din's--*ahem!*"

The camera tumbles around and a flash of red hair and cloak flip by, revealing a dutch angle of a fantastically-strange looking girl with ash-blue skin and red hair, draped over by an inky-black cloak. She does a tiny toss of her head to rearrange the errant strands of hair before continuing.

"Yes. Hello, members of Confuto Ordinatio. I am the newest among your Councilors... you may call me Midna."

Midna is overseeing a mandatory skills examination in the simulation chamber. Some may wonder why there's suddenly such a thing as a "mandatory skills examination" when there never used to be one before, but remember that the bureaucracy is such that it will enact a bill, only to retract it days later thanks to some unforeseen problem. This is one such bill.

"You've got to be kidding me. I've seen a goat-herd fight better than that. Did you just pick that thing up yesterday, or has it been rusting in a chest for a few years?"

And she... was probably the reason it was retracted.

"Ugh. I thought I was through with things like this."

Through some odd machinations--a botched teleportation spell or broken portal--Midna's been forced to pair up with you to find their way out of a dungeon and back to the surface, to find a way back to Confuto Ordinatio.

"Okay... I think I'm going to sit this one out and hide in your shadow. You're willing to fight for the both of us, right? Take down monsters if you have to? Jump around on ledges, climb on grates and ladders, things like that?"

Even if you answer NO, the response will be the same: "Oh goood, now LET'S GET GOING!"
