If it makes you feel any better (or worse? haha), my family STILL gives me a hard time about what I'm eating (or not eating) and comments that I should add meat to my meal. Yeah, it was kind of funny the first time they joked around about it, but after the 5 millionth time, it just got kind of old...I'm pretty sure they think it's still a phase (even though I've been eating this way since 6th grade...lol). I totally understand family pressure though.
As a society, why do we feel the need to label everything? I really don't think food needs to be mutually exclusive anyway; who wants to limit herself? Your diet sounds super healthy anyway, so I think it'll be a pretty smooth transition for you!
Feel free to ask me for any tips! One of the things I can suggest right off the bat (if you don't already) is to take some kind of vitamin. Veggies have a hard time getting certain vitamins, especially in the B family, but I tend to take a multivitamin just in case I'm missing out on anything else :) While it is, of course, better to get vitamins naturally through food, you gotta do what you gotta do. haha.
