You can tell Gail if she calls that I'm famous now for all of these rock and roll songs

So I just finished writing the lyrics to what has turned out to be a really personal story song that is about something really embarrassing that I'm not too proud of. I'm feeling a little naked having written it. Kate and I are going to finally collaborate by putting some music to it, because it seemed like a good/bad idea at the time when we decided to do that. Good, as in the lyrics are quite good (right now anyway) and we've been trying to write a song together for some time now. Bad, as in it's something that I've never talked about with anyone or written about since ever really. Also, I don't actually enjoy laying myself bare like I did in these lyrics.

Buuuuuut it's got some really good lines in it, and I feel the overall message is important and clear enough to not seem like a case of self-gratification (a trait I hate in most "emo" and love songs). So yea, there's that working for it.

We'll see when it comes to putting it in song format.

I blame The '59 Sound for this bout of sentimentality.

fire safety, teeny bopper angst, music
