So I'll wear this halo upon my head; I'll see this lake of fire to its end

Last night was fun. Got to see Anna again. Chatted it up a good few hours on a church yard bench. It was nice. Shame her mum didn't want her on my scooter, but the wind chill was terrible that night anyway. Probably for the best. Still a good night. Always makes me happy to see her. Should give her a call tomorrow or something, see if she's decided whether she's up for going to Chris' housemates' lake house shindig this weekend. Anna: key ingredient for making good times great.

In other news, I've been working on a "beat'em up" game. Use the term loosely, because it's really an amalgamation of gameplay mechanics from several different video game series. Just a little hobby, nothin' serious. Fun though, nice distraction. Still workin' out some kinks, but all in all, shaping up nicely.

Recording scratch rhythms tomorrow with Andrew. Rerecording the album. Give it some better production. Andrew's taking it a bit more professionally than I am, and while this is somewhat awkward for me to take it so professionally due to how laidback I am about songsmithing, it is a good thing. Build up some discipline. I'm excited to finally be recording again, and while they're all songs I've done a million times so far, they're all good and I'm happy to be doing it. It's going to be frustrating as all hell, but it's a labor of love, and one of the only loves I've got in this world. And you work through the things you love, you take the bad with the good, and in the end the reward should far outweigh the cost. Music does this for me. One of the few things/people that do.

"Sunshine Days" is going to be hell in a hand basket. I'm looking forward to it.

Bring it up from the ashes, baby.
