Like the mad woman in the attic

Just started watching Cracker from the start-- how awesome :). Anything by Jimmy McGovern just makes me fall over a little bit with wonder. Though I love the little repetitive details: i.e. this guy's having a tough day 'cos he gets chucked off the bus, or: ah, this guy has a gambling problem, I bet he's the main protagonist or: oh look, it's Paul Copley. It's all good fun. Plus, sporadically culturally relevant to my present situation: it's set in Manchester and the main character is a fantastic Glaswegian :D.

Also, I love Chistopher Eccleston. And with hair! How crazy! And I could just listen to him talk for long periods of time. Why does the northern accent sound so much better on TV than it does in real life?

I should head to bed soon, but BBC Four are doing well and atm I'm watching/ listening to a program about sacred music in Notre Dame-- always fun, since I'm almost finished reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame for the second time. Why does BBC4 not get more publicity? Why doesn't the corporation just put BBC3 out of its misery and plough it's money back into making interesting, educational, cultural stuff like this? Sigh.

But anyway, yes, bed. One more day then I'm back to Glasgow!! Yay :)
