The 3rd of July was cool. We had a great horned owl in one of the trees. Very large impressive bird. We hear owls all the time but this is the first time I have seen one.
Fleet's old dog, the husky is gone. She was in a lot of pain and was wasting away so it was time to put her down. She is buried under her favorite fruit tree in the meadow.
Im seldom in Secondlife. I have to much real life. I updated my OS on the Mac Mini. It ounce agains runs SL but I don't have the time to bother.
I've done over 200 ATC's and traded them. I've remembered to scan most of them. I have a nice slide show of them on my laptop.
I am participating in a couple art circle journals. My journal will travel across North America and UK and back. This will take a year.
I have dropped out of some of the ATC swap groups I was in. I have the same complaint with ATC art as I do with Furry art. Way to much looks like it was all done by the same person. Everyone wants my hand drawn and hand painted ATC's but most of what I get in return is Collage styled ATC's. I have finally found a FineArtATC121 group where only hand drawn/painted are swapped. Most are water color artists but all media is used only Collage and Digital are not allowed.
I'm also doing a lot of collaborative ATC art. Some of it is what is called a "Jam" first person does the background second works on it then passes it to a 3rd person to finish . This is done in 3's so everyone gets one when its done. Another type is called a "hitch Hiker" as it travels with swaps. the HH is started by someone passed to another person in a swap and they work on it and pass it on with their next swap and on it goes until 5 people have added to the ATC then its returned to the original /owner artist.
I have started doing swaps on Swap-bot.com. There are a lot of different kinds of swaps there. I do a lot of 1 for 1 hand drawn/ painted ATC swaps there. I now make and swap something called a Dotee Doll. cute, simple and easy to make and mail in a padded envelope. I have made my first Quiltie, think ATC collage meets traditional quilt squares. Its usually one pieced and embellished square and then traded.
