*Rowan had her six-month check-up on the 9th. She is 26 inches tall, but we don't know what she weighs, because she was too wiggly on the scale. We got everything from 14 lbs. 4 oz. to 14 lbs. 10 oz. I think she's more like 15 lbs., but who knows? She's perfect, as usual. :)

*Our playgroup met on Thursday at the play area at the mall. I've split us into two groups of six and five, because no one can really host 11 moms and babies in their living room. I'm hosting our group of five next week, and then we'll take turns.

*I had to read a book for book club (which is meeting here on the 23rd) and it was one of the worst books I have ever read: Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. It just...wasn't funny. At all.

*I hate US Air. It is the only airline that flies from here to Columbus, and I think they know they have no competition. I tried SIX TIMES (via PayPal, my debit, Bear's debit...) to buy my ticket online, and I got a series of error messages. Finally I called website support, and the tech wound up booking my ticket over the phone. She told me I wouldn't be charged the booking fee because the problem was with the website.

Oh yeah, we got charged the booking fee. Bear found out when he balanced our checkbook yesterday, because US Air had charged us $25, separate from the cost of the ticket. Long story short, after much quality time on hold :p, the charge will be reversed--but not until travel is completed, so after March 3rd.

*It should be illegal to hire customer support staff who cannot speak intelligably over the phone. "Mumble mumblety mumble" is not helpful in the slightest.

*I made Angel Biscuits from The American Century Cookbook. The dough is guaranteed to rise because it contains both yeast and baking powder, and it can be kept in the fridge for a week. I used almond milk + vinegar in place of buttermilk, and it worked fine. It's a lovely dough, and we've been taking full advantage of it--Bear made pigs in a blanket for himself for lunch (there were only two hot dogs left).

*That same day, I made flourless peanut butter cookies. They are very good, so much easier than measuring flour and salt and etc. I was even able to mix them by hand (Baby Girl was napping and I didn't want to risk the mixer waking her).

*We are so broke. We paid rent out of Bear's last paycheck, and then used some money from savings to buy that dratted plane ticket, and long story short, we're broke.

I told Bear he still has to get me a Valentine's Day card. That's not negotiable. :p
